Kevin Micah Buyze

Kevin Micah Buyze was born in Traverse City, Michigan on 5/19/1986 and passed away in his home on Friday 2/20/2015.

Kevin completed his early education through Traverse City Public Schools as an included student and graduated from the Adult Work Center. He was a proud employee of Grand Traverse Industries. Kevin's unlimited passion for new adventure and living life extended to all areas of his life.

Kevin was an avid athlete and participated in many events through the Special Olympics. His love for life and enthusiasm to be an active participant in this life earned him an Inspirational Award both through Special Olympics as well as in the lives of those whom he encountered. He himself knew no limitations and continued to prove his internal strength, resolve, and ability through each new experience he whole-heartedly embraced. He demonstrated his God-given grace through the simple act of being exactly who he was created to be, in the exact moment he was in, fully engaged with those with whom he was sharing his life.

Kevin will always be remembered for the kindness and acceptance found within his hugs and his example that a genuine smile can speak and touch the depth of a heart in a greater way than the most perfected sequenced words. He showed us the amazing joys that our Creator gave for us to discover in the seemingly hidden little things in life and that there is never an excuse to not appreciate the music of one's life and join in celebratory dance.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Cheryl of Traverse City and his two brothers, Jesse and Becky (Davidson) Buyze in Traverse City and Scott and Andrea (Marnett) Buyze in Grand Rapids. He leaves behind his niece and nephews: Tianna Holt, Brayden Buyze, Solomon Buyze and Sheynan Buyze. He is also survived by his grandmother, Jean Buyze, along with several adoring Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, a large extended family, and a beloved network of friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Terrance Gary Buyze. He was also preceded by his grandfather Adrian Cornel Buyze, and his maternal grandparents Darwin and Joyce Breithaupt,

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Robert Zagore will officiate. A reception luncheon will follow.

In remembrance of Kevin, memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Special Olympics – Northern District 2, or those Community Programs that recognize the abilities and value of people who are differently abled and support their educational and employment opportunities.
