Kimberly J. Koss

Kimberly Jean Koss, 50, longtime resident of Traverse City passed away on February 20, 2013 at Munson Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

Kim was a beautiful, loving, kind and strong individual. She demanded the best of herself and brought out the best of everyone she touched. Kim was a devoted mother to her children, Andrew and Megan who loved her very much. Her spiritual guidance and love will remain with both of them forever. Her smile would light up a room spreading joy and kindness. Kim will be remembered by many.

Kimberly was born on April 6, 1962 to Herman and Diane (Leach) Hinsenkamp in Grosse Pointe, MI.

Kim and David were married overlooking the beautiful landscape of A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort on August 26, 2007. Kim and David considered themselves so lucky to able to share their lives together.

After graduating from Traverse City High School, Kim went on to earn her degree from Eastern Michigan University. Her successful career included positions in Traverse City as Finance Officer at Empire Bank, CFO at Traverse Bay Woolen Company, and most recently VP of Finance Technology at ECI.

Kimberly is survived by her husband, David Koss, her son, Andrew Hedger, her daughter, Megan Hedger, her mother, Diane Hinsenkamp, her grandmother, Rita Leach, her sister, Diana Hinsenkamp, her brother, Darren (Diane) Hinsenkamp, her sister, Andrea (Lenny) Hinsenkamp, four nieces, Jane, Ellyson, Holly, and Ava, three nephews, Ryan, Adam, and Finn, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Herman J Hinsenkamp in 2006.

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Hagerty Center located at 715 E. Front St. on the NMC Great Lake Campus, with visitation with friends and family beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Kim's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Lisa Hughes, all of the oncology nurses on 4C at Munson Medical Center, and the doctors and staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York for all of their care and relentless effort and compassion. Thank you all.
