Kristi Rae Flory, owner of Sweet Meadow Farm Gardens in Lake Ann, died on May 14 in her home within the loving embrace of her family. She was 59 years old. Kristi was born on July 6, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Roger and Marilyn Flory. Michigan has been her home for nearly 40 years.

Kristi took great pleasure in nurturing others: she set a splendid table to nourish the body, and with her lovely flowering landscapes and generous spirit she nourished the soul. She cherished her family and church community and tended to all with compassion and a joyful heart.

Kristi is survived by two brothers, Dan (Mary Jo) Flory of Traverse City and Ken (Fran) Flory of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Judy (Larry) Dunn of San Jose, CA; three aunts, Elaine Stauffer of OH, Ramona Cann of MD, and Doris Welles of FL; eight nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver LynAnne Mathews.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Kristi's beloved farm in her gardens, but a memorial service for friends and members of the community will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18 at the Lake Ann United Methodist Church in the village. In lieu of flowers, contirbutions in Kristi's memory may be made to Lake Ann United Methodist Church.
