Kristopher "Kris" David Gilmore, 34, of Traverse City, passed away November 28, 2021.

Kris was born July 28, 1987 in Traverse City, son to Norman D. and Katherine A. (Manville) Gilmore.

Kris was a shining light to so many people, friends and family alike. He was a selfless and kindhearted person, who always made an impression.

He spent much of his time volunteering at organizations such as the National Cherry Festival and Traverse City Film Festival. Kris was an advocate for the Disability Network of Northern Michigan. He was also a medalist in the Special Olympics, track and field. He enjoyed downhill skiing and watching Michigan sports teams, college and professional alike. He was proud to have been a team assistant for the TC West football team as well. Those who knew Kris knew about his love of Star Wars. By far, his favorite character was Grogu (baby version of Yoda), from the new series "The Mandalorian."

Among a multitude of wonderful friends, Kris also leaves behind his mother Katherine Gilmore; grandfather Elmer Manville; great-grandmother Beatrice Manville; uncles Richard (Brandi) and Eric (Heather) Manville, as well as other extended family members.

Kris was preceded in death by his father Norman David Gilmore; grandmother Katherine Manville and grandparents Ron and Joyce Gilmore.

A graveside service will take place Monday, May 16 at noon in the Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City. A luncheon will follow the Grand Traverse Circuit, 225 W. 14th Street, Traverse City.
