Kyle Austin Bazner

Kyle Austin Bazner, 21, of Lake Ann, died Sunday, October 6, 2013.

Kyle was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1992 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, the son of Marsha Ann (Seguin) and Kurt E. Bazner.

Kyle was a 2010 graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School. In his early high school years he played football, later playing baseball. He was an avid skim boarder and founded Up North Skim, which was sponsored by Jay Gordon of Oregon. Kyle could often be found skim boarding on the shores of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore as well as on North Bar. His love was for the out of doors, where he also hiked, snowboarded and enjoyed long boarding. He was carefree, genuine and caring and would do anything for anyone, without being judgmental. His struggles over the last few years were difficult and so his love of skim boarding, family and friends, brought him solace. He loved music as well and how it set him free.

Kyle is survived by his mom and dad, Marsha and Kurt; his sister Cameron; his grandparents Arthur and Janice Bazner of Dearborn Heights as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Theresa Seguin.

Visitation for Kyle will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wed., Oct. 9 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thurs. Oct 10 beginning at 11 a.m. at New Hope Community Church, Williamsburg, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. Pastor Tim Manzer will officiate.

Although flowers are beautiful, the family asks that monetary contributions in Kyle's name be directed to a fund to benefit his sister, Cameron. It weighed heavy on Kyle's heart that he was in and out of his sister's life for the past three years. This contribution to Cameron would allow her to pursue her dreams in writing and painting, and as Kyle had told her prior to his passing, to never give up on them and to continue her writing and painting.
