Larry E. Gorton

Lawrence "Larry" E. Gorton, 87, of Traverse City entered into eternal life on June 26, 2023. Larry was born on November 9, 1935 to the late Ernest and Edna (Krause) Gorton in Lansing. In 1955, Larry married the love of his life, Marjorie, and together they happily raised two children. In 1970, the family moved north from Birmingham and after a time in both Glen Lake and Suttons Bay, they finally settled in Traverse City. After many years, Larry retired from his position as President of Goodyear Auto Service Center. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #323 and the Traverse City Kiwanis Club.

Larry is survived and missed by his loving wife, Marjorie; his son Gary (Kris) and daughter Katherine (John) Gorton Ferkins; grandchildren Drew (Dominique) Gorton, Devan Gorton, Molly (Jeffrey) Karnes, Hannah (Simon) Cunningham, Daniel Pittsley and Jessica Ferkins; and great grandchildren Gavin and Hendrick Cunningham. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.
