TRAVERSE CITY – Larry Eugene Miner, age 78, of Traverse City passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor with his family by his side.
Larry was born in Fife Lake on September 25, 1942 to Mancel and Lucille (Bever) Miner.
Larry grew up in Fife Lake where he attended school and worked on his family's farm. He remained in the Grand Traverse area for the majority of his life where he worked for the Grand Traverse Road Commission retiring in 1998. In 1965, Larry married Susan (Brown) Miner at Sacred Heart church and together had two children, Todd and Matt.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. Larry hadn't missed an opening day of deer season since he was 13. He loved sports, coaching his son's teams and attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a dog lover and above all a great friend, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by all of those that were fortunate enough to know him.
Larry is survived by his sons; Todd (Amy) Miner, Matt (Nicole Olivia) Miner, grandchildren; Grace, Ben, Claire, sister, Bonnie Mallow. Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Larry's life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor Chris Lane will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to visit
