Larry Murra

Larry Murra, a true warrior, passed away August 15, 2023, at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 11, 1947 in Mount Pleasant, MI to the late Raymond and Louann (Christy).
Larry, the absolute "man's man" did everything with an "all in!" attitude.
More affectionately known as "Perfect Papa" or "Big Red" Larry loved to be outdoors; hunting locally or in the UP or fishing locally or in Canada. He would spend countless hours on his pleasure boats over the years in West Bay spending nights on the Island or at many of the marinas.
Larry lived to serve helping anyone on the docks or his neighborhood alike. It was never a wise idea to even so much as hint a project in Larry's direction – within 8 hours consider it DONE! Even if it wasn't really the color you intended it to be.
He worked for many years in the trades specializing in drywall and ran a great crew with Artec Interiors for many of those years.
He is survived by his wife Janette, children Matt (Cristy) and Sara (LJ) Gannon, the apple of his eye and granddaughter Bella as well as many extended family members and friends.
An open house to honor Larry will take place on Friday August 25, 2023 from 10a-12p at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a time of prayer and sharing from 12-12:30pm. A meal will be served immediately following at St. Francis Catholic Church.
