Ladislaus Stanley Bocek, 84, of Traverse City and formerly of Lansing, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at in Traverse City.
Laudie was born on Friday, June 29, 1928 to the late Stanley and Mary (Marsic) Bocek in Lansing. He married Cecilia Ann Smalec who preceded him in death on Nov. 2, 2005.
A veteran, serving with the U. S. Marine Corp., Laudie had been employed for 47 years at Fisher Body in Lansing prior to his retirement. He and his wife moved to the Traverse City area in 2005 from Lansing. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling, gaming and golfing.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Bocek of Traverse City; a brother, Lawrence Bocek of Tawas, and sisters, Alice (Johnny) Riha of Sanford and Carol (Frank) Bocek of Owosso. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the funeral home with Father Ken Stachnik officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
