TRAVERSE CITY —
Lavonne Diane Blackburn, 77, of Traverse City, returned home on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012. Lavonne was born on Jan. 30, 1935, in Detroit, to the late Walter and Helen (Osgood) Vivier.
Lavonne was a dedicated bookkeeper to several businesses in the Traverse City area, including Munson Medical Center, Michigan Home Health Care and Traverse Oil.
However, Lavonne's passion in life was her family. She enjoyed baseball games, recitals or any event that was special to another family member. Her family was her main source of entertainment. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and an awesome grandmother.
Surviving Lavonne are her children, Lori Diane McManus, Julia Ann (fiancé, Randy Ottenwess) Luckey, Karen Sue Aylsworth and Edward Russell (Lisa) Blackburn; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way; two brothers, Ron (Alice) Vivier and Don (Gaye) Vivier; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her infant son, Russell Edward Blackburn; and her parents, Helen and Walter Vivier.
Visitation for Lavonne will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 16, 2012, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, also at the funeral home, at 11 a.m., with a visitation held one hour prior. Pastor Tim Manzer will serve as officiant.
