Lawrence "Bud" Haywood

Traverse City, Michigan - (Bud) Lawrence Wilbur Haywood, 83yr, of Traverse City, died 11:35pm, January 5, 2016 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City following complication after a stroke.

Born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan the son of Isaac and Minnie (Corner) Haywood, he was a life long resident. Bud leaves his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Eylane (Bean) Haywood; his three sons, Larry Duane Haywood and his wife, Darlene Marie Haywood; Paul Harvey Haywood; Karl Nathan Haywood and his wife Kimberly Beth Haywood; and 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Beverly Van Epps and Ruth Forbes and many cousins.

As long as anyone can remember he was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors with family and friends. As many will attest, Bud would often be found making casts off one of the downtown Traverse City bridges during his lunch hours. He was often heard saying, "I'm going to step out and make a few casts"

Back in the day Bud could be found most mornings at the downtown J&S restaurant visiting with friends.

In honor of Bud's memory some of the family met at the J&S restaurant and visited with Buds friends there will be an Open House on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church 813 Parsons Rd Traverse City
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be sent to Webber Heart Center of Munson Healthcare

The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
