TRAVERSE CITY — Lawrence Garrison Kaltenbach was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Mayville, Wis., to Fred and Ella (Kadlec) Kaltenbach. He passed away at Bortz Health Care July 4, 2010, at the age of 93.He enjoyed gardening, helping in harvesting fruit and enjoyed animals. He faithfully participated in reciting the rosary and church services while at Bortz.Lawrence is survived by his sisters, Odelia Cook of Everett, Pa., Pauline (Don) Schopieray of Traverse City and Bertha (Jim) Harvey of Traverse City; two brothers, Virgil (Betty) Kaltenbach of Florida and Robert Kaltenbach of Traverse City; and many other loving family members and friends.Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve, Fred and Leo; sisters, Frieda Johnson and Ruth Garvin; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.Special thanks is extended to Roman Garvin (brother-in-law) and the staff at Bortz Health Care. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Deacon Rene Hoenscheid officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside committal services will be held in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
