TRAVERSE CITY — Lawrence J. Robinson, 97, a lifelong resident of the Traverse City area, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. Born Nov. 19, 1912, in Honor, he was the son of Arthur and Flora (Fredrickson) Robinson. On July 1, 1939, he married the former Eva Plamondon, who preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2000.Mr. Robinson was employed as an auto mechanic for many years in the Traverse City area. He was also self-employed for several years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.Survivors include his son, Gary (Ann) Robinson, of Traverse City; daughter, Sharon (Ronald) Wenz, of Midland; eight grandchildren, Lori (Steve) Hoevemeyer, of Midland, Mark (Kathleen) Wenz, of Midland, Michael (Erin) Wenz, of Bay City, Tandi (John) Imbs, of Pleasant Ridge, Troy Robinson, of Naperville, Ill., Courtney (Jack) Clark, of Gaylord, Adam Wilder, of Traverse City, and John (Carrie) Wilder, of Traverse City; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brothers, Donald, Pat and Ben Robinson. A private family memorial gathering will take place.
