Traverse City, MI- Lee Alan Hosler, 79, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully in his home on May 10, 2023.
Born April 12,1944, in Dayton, OH, he was the eldest child of the late Nell Jane and Harlan Hosler. Lee met his wife, Carol Lea Blick, in Bethesda, Maryland in 1965 and they married on June 8, 1968, in Washington, D.C.
Lee graduated from The Ohio State University in 1967, after which he attended one year of Law School at American University in Washington, D.C. He served three years in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 when he was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant, Infantry. Lee was employed by the General Dynamics Corporation for 32 years after which he retired in 2003 as Manager of Major Systems Subcontracts. During his 32-year career, Lee worked on two weapon platforms; the F16 Fighter Jet and the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank. His assignments included office locales in Washington, D.C., Fort Worth, TX, Brussels, Belgium and Sterling Heights, MI. Lee did extensive international travel during his final 20 years with General Dynamics negotiating major subcontracts with foreign companies.
Lee was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Traverse City. In retirement, he was active in his Port of Old Mission Condominium Association and was a long-time member of the Traverse City Newcomers Club. Lee enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, reading, traveling and keeping up on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Lee dearly loved his wife of nearly 55 years, Carol, and his three children and five grandchildren; he was so very proud of all of them and their accomplishments.
Along with his wife, Lee is survived by his sister, Barbara Miller of Virginia; brother, Richard Hosler of Florida; daughters, Angela (Kevin) Camp of Traverse City, MI, Sherry (Garrett) Polk of Canton Twp, MI, and son, Lee (Casey) Hosler, Jr. of Lantana, TX; five grandchildren, Kaelan Camp, Lauren Camp, Sydney Hosler, Aubrey Hosler and Graham Polk. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Lee's life will take place on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Central United Methodist Church beginning at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will last until the time of service. Lee will be interred in the Central United Methodist Church Columbarium.
