Lewis Richard Roush 91, of Traverse City passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2023, with his family by his side.

Louie was born on July 25, 1931, on the family farm in Traverse City to the late Wilson "Pete" and Hazel (Strait) Roush. He was the sixth of fifteen children, and they all grew up together on the dairy farm.

On November 3, 1951, he married Marcella Vera Moldenhauer. Together the two have shared nearly 72 years of fun, friendship, and love. In their younger years they loved to dance, especially polka and could often be found at the American Legion or the Hayloft.

Louie was a mechanic for over forty years. He could fix anything. He will be remembered as an awesome grandpa, dad and husband. He loved his grands and great grands and they always brought a smile to his face.

Louie was preceded in death by his siblings Harry, William, Louise Fasel, Robert, Harold, Francis, Donald, Hellen Bush and Alfred.

He is survived by his wife Marcella, their children Shelley Roush, Susan (Winn) Powers, Steven Roush, Sally Dewitt and Stuart (Colette) Roush; 12 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; siblings Esther Plowman, Leonard, George (Patricia), Floyd, Jane Rinehart; sister-in-law Gwen and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in the spring.
