Linda Henry

Linda K. Henry knew life intimately through lenses of every shade. Her passion would not be bound. Instead, it overflowed into anyone who dared take the plunge into her lake of deep sincerity and dark humor. A true nymph of woods, beaches and farms-her companions were often children. Earning a teaching degree from Grand Valley she chose to expand little minds for its sake alone. Her professional career with the National Park Service followed her heart which belonged to beauty, nature, people and history. The Sleeping Bear Dunes, Manitou Islands, Apostle Islands, Grand Portage, Camp David, Lincoln Home and the entire North Country will always retain her presence.

Her 72nd year of life was senselessly ended February 4th, 2022 at her home in Beulah. Linda was Born in 1949 to Paul and Eleanore (Wurst) Henry in Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Sharon and Carol. She is survived by siblings Paul; Brenda; Kurt; and many vital extended family members. Boldly single, she passed the Henry name on to her son McCord and his wife Gabrielle. Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren McKai, Jasper, Wyeth and Adelaide. To them she was Abuela. She thought for herself beyond convention and tested the limits of medicine, food, politics, justice, poverty, society and awareness in everyone who knew her.

A memorial service honoring Linda's life will take place at 3:00PM, Sunday, February 20, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will take place after the service, until 5:00 PM. For those unable to attend Linda's service, it will be livestreamed at www.rjfh.tv .
