TRAVERSE CITY - Linda Lou Nurnberger, 67, of Traverse City passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle, on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family, best friend and her pastor. Linda was born on December 28, 1947 in Reed City, Michigan to the late Leo and Maxine (Gugle) Block. On June 21, 1969, Linda entered into marriage with Jim Nurnberger in her home town of Reed City.
She graduated from NMC Nursing School in 1967. Linda was a LPN private duty nurse serving many area families over the years. She was a great cook her family loved her baking. Linda was a wonderful gardener; she always had beautiful flowers in her garden. She had many hobbies including camping, shopping, and animals.
Linda is survived her loving husband of 46 years, Jim, a son, Todd (Elizabeth) Nurnberger and their children; Henry and Madeline, a daughter, Heather (Ryan) Watson and their children; Tylus, Allison, and Grace, and a daughter, Becky Maddox and her son; Landon. Also surviving are a brother; Jerry (Diane) Block, mother-in-law; Marian Nurnberger, as well as Linda's faithful dog, Teddy.
A memorial service honoring Linda will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan, 49684, with visiting one hour prior. Pastor Tim Manzer will officiate.
