Lisa Laverne Chouinard, 49, lifelong resident of Traverse City passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at her home.

Lisa was born on August 7, 1962 in Traverse City.

Thou life was a struggle for Lisa, she spread her wings as far as this life would allow her. Now she has the wings of an angel and we who loved her know she will spread them beyond anything we can imagine. Lisa was loved, is loved, and will be forever loved for the way she touched our lives.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Romayne (Wolfgram) Grant, one brother and seven sisters, Yvonne Famiano of Houghton Lake, Diane McClannon, of North Carolina, Joanne Sheets of Mt. Pleasant, Gloria Winowiecki of Houghton Lake, Mary Wagner of Vanderbilt, Carla Eckenroth of North Carolina, David Chouinard of Bellaire, and Laura Sweet of Alabama, her step-mother, Gertrude Chouinard, step-siblings, Peggy, Mike, Penny, Stella, and Sheryl as well as many other loving family members, caregivers and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, James E. Chouinard her sister, Lila Lautner, caring guardian of 20 years Christle Anslow, and step-brother Clarence.

A celebration of Lisa's life will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior.

Grave-side committal services will be held in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at a later date.
