Obituary

Lisa Marlene Habrecht, 66, passed away on June 16 after a courageous 15-year battle with scleroderma. Her surviving family, knowing she was a private person of Christian faith, take solace in believing she is now among the angels and forever reunited with those she deeply loved who passed before her.

A native of Traverse City, she was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie (Batdorff) Lipp and Roland Habrecht, and her loving father, John "J" Lipp.

Lisa loved her family and friends fiercely and would go to the ends of the earth to protect those lucky enough to be in her orbit. She is survived by three children: Marshall (Davina) Mossman, Conrad Carlson, and Teri-Lyne (Jacob) Murphy; her three brothers: Kurt (Bonnie) Habrecht, Max (the late Michelle) Habrecht, and John (Peter) Lipp; many beloved grandchildren on earth and in heaven, nieces and nephews, and her aunt, Phyllis Lipp Barth.

Lisa attended school in Traverse City and worked for over 40 years as a health care aid, where she brought love, care, and compassion to countless people and families. Even after passing, she continued to help others by giving the gift of sight through the organ donation program.

She loved the beauty of the natural world and found the divine spirit in all creatures. A true "animal whisperer," Lisa used her unique talents to help save hundreds of animals over the years. While her travels took her across the American West and South, she always returned home to the peace and beauty of Northern Michigan.

A fighter until the end, Lisa inspired others through her courage, her love, her laughter, and the joy she found in living every day to its fullest.

Memorial donations in Lisa's honor may be made to the Cherryland Humane Society of Traverse City at https://www.cherrylandhumane.org or the National Scleroderma Foundation at https://scleroderma.org .
