Lloyd Clarence Freeman
TRAVERSE CITY – Lloyd C. Freeman, age 82, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Munson Hospice House in the loving care of his family.
Lloyd was born to Clarence and Zella (Horton) Freeman on February 29, 1936 in Doster, Michigan, and he graduated with a Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. Lloyd retired from the Northport School System in 1989 after 22 years as Superintendent for a total of 25 years.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley (Becker) Freeman, children; Richard (Dianne) Freeman, Magnolia Springs, AL, Judy (Nick) Walters, Traverse City, and Steven (Ann) Freeman, Holland, MI, brothers; William (Joyce) Freeman, Charlotte, MI, Larry (Dawn) Freeman, Highland, MI, and sister, Linda (Mickey) Sparks, Mesick, MI, 6 grandchildren; Zack, Jeff, Chris, Brooke, Alex and Cody. Lloyd is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Zella, and brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Cynthia) Freeman.
A memorial service for Lloyd will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Christopher Cox will be officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home.
