Lloyd Francis Lanning

Lloyd Francis Lanning, 63, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully November 3, 2019 at the age of 63.

He was born in Cadillac on May 25, 1956, the son of Lloyd Laverne and Frances Lola (McBrian) Lanning.

Lloyd was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing softball and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed building sets and being the stage manager for the ballet studio, as well as being outdoors. He really loved playing jokes on people. An employee of Munson Medical Center for 36 years, Lloyd worked in security at both Menards and Sara Lee after he retired from Munson.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Ann (Hogarth) Lanning; son, Christopher Adam (Daphne Ann) Lanning; daughter Katelyn Marie (Andrew Parsons) Lanning; three grandchildren, Julia Anne and Aubrie Marie Lanning and Adam Lee Hazel; two sisters, Delilah Dee Lanning and Sandra Lynn (Paul) Rickerd and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers in law.

At his request, no formal service will be held, only a Celebration of Life which will be held November 16, 2019 from 1 until 5 p.m. at the Grand Traverse Event Center, 738 S. Garfield Ave., Traverse City. Lloyd will be laid to rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in Traverse City.
