Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — Lois La Von Gren, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Munson Hospice House. Lois loved spending time fishing with a cane pole, traveling, camping, cross-country skiing, playing tennis, riding her bicycle, going to water aerobics and being with family and friends. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Red Hat Society. Lois was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.Lois is survived by her daughters, La Donna Redman, of Caro, and Linda (Ed) Hamblin, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; her son, Bruce (Pam) Gren, of Hersey; her grandchildren, William L. Gren, of Traverse City, Amber Redman, of Caro, Heather Gren and Brent Gren, of Hersey; her sister, Lorene Seitz, of St. Mary's, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Martha Martens; her sister, Betty Barthuly; her brothers, Ray and Delbert Martens; her husband of 43 years, William (Bill) Gren; and her grandson, David Alan La Roe.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.Memorial donations can be directed to the Father Fred Foundation. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
