Lois Lee Nelson, 84, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Lois was born on January 19, 1940 in Edina, MN to the late Maurice and Grace (Loomis) Henderson. She earned her bachelor's degree from Drake University in Education and worked as a travel agent, office manager and a middle school teacher before helping the elderly in her retirement.
She was married twice, first to Lawrence Weygand in 1960, later to Gary Nelson in 1983.
Lois enjoyed travel, time with friends, social gatherings, shopping, romance novels, and volunteering in the Senior Community.
She moved to Traverse City from Nashville in 1992.
She is survived by her son Chad (Georginia) Weygand of Centennial, CO, her brother Thomas Henderson of Vail, CO, along with several other family members and friends throughout Michigan.
