Lois Stevens Summers, 82, of Traverse City passed away Tuesday, December 06, 2016 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions surrounded by her family.
Lois was born on Wednesday, June 20, 1934 to Thomas and Hilda (Speyer) Meines in Grand Rapids, MI. She married James Stevens with whom she had three children. After the death of her first husband James, she found love again and married John 'Jack' Summers on June 6, 1987 at a service in Traverse City. She and Jack moved to Traverse City in 2002. She worked as an Office Manager with Grand Ledge Arts Council and volunteered her time with the Grace Episcopal Food Pantry and the Traverse City District Library.
She is survived by her husband Jack Summers; daughter Joni (Richard) Jenkins; sons Michael (Kathy) Stevens and D. Thomas (Jeanne) Stevens; sister Sharon (Ed) VanTimmeren; two grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Hilda (Speyer) Meines and her first husband James Stevens.
Per Lois' wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later time.
