Lois Florence Wright, 98, of Elk Rapids passed away peacefully on June 11th,at her home surrounded by loved ones. Lois was born July 30,1927 in Redford, MI to her late parents August & Florence Beier and was the youngest of two daughters.

Lois graduated from Redford High School in June 1945 & went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone Company. After two years she went to work at Montgomery Ward as a secretary. While there she met her husband Frank Lloyd Wright. They were married May 5, 1951 at Redford Lutheran Church. They raised three children, two sons and a daughter, Paul Douglas, Charles Daniel, and Diane Marie. In 1954 they moved to Livonia, MI and became members of Peace Lutheran Church, where Lois taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary and served for the first time as the church historian. They lived there 31 years when in 1985 her husband was transferred to Pennsylvania for work. They joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in King of Prussia where Lois became the church secretary and served a second time as the church historian. After 2 years they became members of beautiful Savoir Lutheran Church in Holland, PA where they lived and Lois became the church secretary and served for the third time as the church historian.

In 1989 her husband retired and they moved to Elk Rapids, MI and built their beautiful retirement home on Elk Lake. They joined Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Traverse City, MI. Lois taught Sunday School, was President of the Alter Guild, became the church secretary for 7 years and served her fourth and final time as the church historian. She was a member of Elk Rapids Garden Club & the Elk Rapids Ladies Golf League. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Aunt who always put her trust in God first and foremost. Lois is survived by her loving children Paul of Redford Twp, Charles (Nancy) of Brighten & Diane (Donald) Glowicki of Williamsburg. She was the cherished Gram of 8 grandchildren, Rebecca (Tony), Paul Jr (Shelly), Amy (Matthew), Christopher, Matthew, Kelly (Keith), Ryan. She also loved and adored her 11 Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Kaylie, Brayden, Caleb, Adelaide, Mila, Mason, Maya, MJ, Tessa, & Bella. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, sister Shirley Pop, & granddaughter Krista Wright.

A memorial service honoring Lois will take place at 12pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Prince of Peace Evangelical Luthern Church, 2242 LaFranier Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686 with visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service. Pastor Stephen Raddatz will officiate.
