Loretta Jean Mehl

Loretta Jean (Eiken) Mehl, 87, of Traverse City passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was born in Traverse City on February 9, 1935 to Ole and Eldeen Eiken. She was married to Cletus Belanger and later to Duane Mehl.

Loretta loved to read, she also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She and Duane liked to travel and visit other areas of the country. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her parents Ole and Eldeen Eiken; and a sister, Joyce Eiken.

Surviving Loretta are her sons; Peter (Mary Bacon) Belanger, Douglas Mehl and Eric Mehl, grandchildren; Kira (Nate Vieira-Ducey) Belanger, Courtney Belanger, Annie Belanger, Jentzen Mehl, Connor (Morgan) Mehl, Eric Mehl, II, and Rachel Mehl; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion (Joe) Nied.
In accordance with Loretta's wishes, there will be no public services held. Cremation has taken place and there will be a family memorial at a later date.
