Lorin Dale Harris passed away on May 19, 2014 surrounded by loving family who prayed and sang him into Heaven. Lorin lived most of his life in Toledo but at the age of 81 moved to Beulah, Michigan to marry a wonderful woman, Anna Kraak. Lorin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol Klinpeter Harris. Lorin and Carol had two children, Mark Deaunee Harris (Ann) and Holly Harris Bane (Jim) and grandchildren Jordan (Allyson) and Brittany, Jacob (Heather) and Joshua. Lorin was looking forward to the arrival of his first great grandchild in July.
After marrying Anna in 2003, Lorin inherited a large extended family, including six step children – Linda (Randy deceased), Debra (Don), Shari (Lloyd deceased), Kevin (Carol), Scott deceased (Tammy), and Jody (Kirk) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorin's extended family provided him with love, support, and faith.
Lorin was a proud naval veteran who served in World War II. His early working career was with Gulf Oil. He worked in executive sales for Superior Linen for most of his life, retiring in 1979. Lorin was active in his faith and denomination Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was a founding member of two Disciple churches in Toledo. In retirement, Lorin traveled extensively often visiting his WWII buddies, doing Tai Chi four times a week, following his beloved Detroit Tigers, and visiting his two children in Waterville, Ohio and Hudson, Ohio. Lorin was also an avid reader and dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 26 years.
Lorin Dale Harris lived a long, faithful, and loving life. He will be missed daily by his wife Anna, children and step children.
