TRAVERSE CITY — Lorna B. Kraft, 92, of Traverse City, passed away on July 10, 2011, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Lorna was born on June 17, 1919, in Okemos to the late Otto "Ora" and Edna (Hammond) Andrews. On July 16, 1938, Lorna married Howard A. Kraft who preceded her in death in 2004 after more than 65 wonderful years of marriage. Lorna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grand River. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues. She loved being a mother and grandmother to everyone, not just her two sons and grandchildren. She was a humble farm girl from DeWitt who lived life to its fullest. Lorna was very optimistic and was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She was a fantastic cook and an excellent card player. Her family will always remember the fun times they had at the family cottage on Houghton Lake.Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons John and Joseph. She is survived by her grandchildren Jay Kraft, Korenne Kraft, Adam (Marianne) Kraft; great-granddaughter Keara; and daughter-in-law Sandy Kraft. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 3 p.m. with visitation to be held one hour prior at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Tim Moeggenberg will lead the service to celebrate Lorna's long and happy life. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia. Memorial contributions in memory of Lorna may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
