Lorraine Lake

Lorraine Lake, 90, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her daughters.

Lorraine was born on Monday, April 20, 1925 to the late Edmund and Delmina (Amore) Brow in Lake Leelanau. She married Edward H. Lake on Saturday, January 31, 1942 in Lake Leelanau.

Finishing school and becoming an LPN in 1955, Lorraine was employed by Munson Medical Center for 29 years, retiring on May 1, 1984. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and flower gardening, as well as trips to the casino in her later years. Lorraine was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Cherryland Post 2780.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Sherry Crouch and Delmina (James) Hyder, both of Kalamazoo; son Timothy Lake of Manton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her siblings, Melvin (Yvonne) Brown of Mt. Morris, Eloise Heniser of Six Lakes, Delbert (Corrie) Brow of Hemet, CA, Merlyn Brow of Trufant, Ronald (Esther) Brow of Rockford and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents, and siblings, Bernice Hitchcock, Leonard Brow, Dora Corrin, Willard Brow and Orville Brow.

Visitation for Lorraine will take place from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 8 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, also at the funeral home. Howard Lake will officiate. Burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery at Williamsburg.
