Eleanor Louise Bass, 87, of Traverse City passed away September 23, 2017 at her home with family by her side.
Louise was born on October 29, 1929 in Grosse Pointe Farms to the late Burt A. and Muriel L. (Vizzard) McClellan.
Louise married Jack Bass Jr. in Detroit on January 21, 1956.
Louise was an accomplished artist. She worked for the Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea for 20 years where she served as a missionary artist. She served on the General Synod Council and was a devoted member and elder of Faith Reformed Church. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, walking and traveling. You can see Louise's work all around Traverse City. She was very talented and blessed many people through her art. Her faith in God was steadfast.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her son Jonathan and her sister Audrey.
Louise is survived by her children Joye (Jack) Judy of Holt, Jackie (Dan) Dillinger of Traverse City and daughter - in - law Jackie Bass; grandchildren Steve Bass and Stefanie Bass, Andrea (John) Phillips, Kevin Judy and Erica Judy, Dylan (Camille) Dillinger and Collin (Alexis) Dillinger; and great grandchildren Robert, Weston & Kadina Phillips and Roman Griffes.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 3 to 6 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Faith Reformed Church. Louise will be laid to rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
