Lucia Mae Bloomfield, age 77, of Traverse City, passed away on September 7, 2018 at her home in the loving care of her family.
Lucia was born on August 10, 1941 to Howard and Rosina (Carlisle) Leach in Traverse City. Lucia grew up in Traverse City where she attended school and graduated from Traverse City Central High School. Shortly after graduating high school, Lucia met Leslie Ray Bloomfield at the Timberlane Bowling Alley in Traverse City, and the two were married not long thereafter.
Lucia was well known for her gift wrapping abilities, a skill she acquired from working at Milliken's Department Store. Lucia also worked for 20 years at the Friendship Village in Schaumberg, IL as an environmental service housekeeper. She was a wonderful artist and loved crafts.
Lucia was a kind, beautiful and generous person. All she ever wanted was to be a good person. Instead she succeeded at being a great one. She will be deeply missed.
Lucia is survived by, Leslie Bloomfield, her children; Brad Bloomfield, and Jacqueline Bloomfield, siblings; Linda (Leach) Voyles, and Howard W. Leach. Lucia is also survived by many relatives.
Per Lucia's request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
