Obituary

Lucie Gertrude (Beauchemin) Irmen of Traverse City, MI. passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022, at the age of 88. Born in St. Gregoire, Quebec, Canada on February 4, 1934, to the late Charles Etienne Beauchemin and Germaine (Duguay). Beloved wife of the late Duane E. Irmen.

She will be greatly missed by her 3 children: Gregory (& Ellen) Irmen of Traverse City, MI, Michelle-Anne Irmen (& Flemming) Christensen of Plymouth, MA, and Noelle Irmen (& Scott) Morell of Traverse City, MI. She was a loving grandmother to Edward, Charles (& Liz) and Shane Irmen, Clement, Andreas (& Noorjehan Khan) and Sebastien Christensen, Stefan (& DeeDee), Christian (& Cassidy) and Brendan (& Julia) Morell as well as her 2 great granddaughters: Aspen Morell and Lucy May Irmen.

Lucie graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of Montreal in Sherbrooke, Quebec. True to her adventurous spirit, quest for travel, and a desire to learn a new language, Lucie traveled to Toledo, Ohio, and worked at St. Vincent Hospital. Lucie practiced as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at Wyandotte General Hospital, Wyandotte, MI. Caring for others was her passion and calling. Lucie shared her unique cheerful ways with patients, and always spread sunshine whenever she could.

With Duane, Lucie traveled the country in their RV, before retiring in Traverse City, setting up an irresistible summer destination for their grandsons to get together, grow roots, and build happy family memories. She escaped the northern winters and built countless snowbird friendships in Arcadia, FL. Lucie's most cherished times were with her family. She was loved dearly by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be 10 AM with a Funeral Mass immediately following on December 17, 2022, at St Patrick's Church, 630 S West Silver Lake Rd, Traverse City, MI 49685. Interment will take place at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, Oregon, Ohio on a later date.
