GRAWN — Lucille V. Gilliland, 85, of Grawn, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Grand Traverse Pavilions, surrounded by her family.Lucille was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Pleasant Valley, S.D., to Charles A. and Flora E. (Gustafson) Allison. She married Gilford T.Gilliland on Aug. 7, 1959, in Kirksville, Mo. A Registered Nurse for over 40 years, she lived her life serving and helping others. She served as an Army Cadet Nurse.Lucille was a member of the DAV, the VFW and attended Present Truth Ministries of Traverse City, formerly known as Light of the North Christian Center. She loved the Lord.Surviving Lucille are her children, William "Bill" Thompson, of Fairburn S.D., Judi Cross, of West Valley, Utah, James "Jim" Thompson, of Newell, S.D., Kristeen (Tim) Mann, of Traverse City, and Sandra (John) Brintnall, of Grawn; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services for Lucille will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation held one hour prior to the service.
