Lucille "Lou" Norma Wright

Lucille "Lou" Norma Wright, 91, of Lake Ann, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Medilodge of Leelanau. Lucille was born on February 27, 1930 in Bay City, Michigan to the late William and Thusnelda (Zink) Schutt. She married the love of her life, Donald Wright on October 23, 1948 in Bay City. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2012.

Lou and Don raised their family in Midland, Michigan. She had been employed with Dow Chemical and later became the office manager for a law firm, retiring after over 19 years of service. Eventually, she moved to Northern Michigan, living full time in their cottage on Lake Ann. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Kathrine Guild. Among her other interests, she enjoyed birds, skiing, deer hunting, gardening and her cats. Above all, spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Lou is survived by her son, Dr. Kim (Colleen) Wright, a daughter-in-law, Carol Wright and her loving grandchildren; Crystal (Matthew) Fetzner, Alexis Wright, Brianna Wright, Nicholas Wright and Robyn (Marcus) Mead. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Riley and Keira Fetzner, Meredith, Madelyn and Wesley Mead.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wright, a brother, Richard Schutt and a sister, Vera Schwab.

A funeral service honoring Lucille will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran of Interlochen Lutheran Church, 1896 Rogers Rd., Grawn, Michigan 49637. Pastor Jason Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in Greenbrier Cemetery.
