Traverse City-Lydia Thea Pryor, 78, of Traverse City, passed on Tuesday evening, February 19, 2013, at her home.

Born July 2,1934, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Katherine (Kupferschmid) Failer

On August 3, 1956, at St. Julianna Catholic Church in Detroit, she was united in marriage to Jim Pryor, beginning a life together that would span nearly 57 years.

She led a beautiful life and was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Lydia possessed a great fondness in praying to St. Anthony, the Patron Saint of miracles.

Lydia enjoyed her family, summer days at the cottage, gardening, hearing and seeing the loons on the pond and reading on the shores Lake Leelanau.

She faced her illness with strength and courage which gave her family much inspiration.

Lydia was a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and a fierce champion of those she loved most.

With her tender heart and gentle spirit, Lydia touched the lives of so many. She will be truly missed, yet never far from our heart.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jim Pryor of Traverse City; her children, Lynn A. Pryor-Heater and her daughters, Libby and April, Jim (Sally) Pryor Jr, and their son, Ben , Michael J. Pryor and his daughters, Megan and Katie T., Diane D. Pryor and, Kate F. Pryor. She is also survived by three brothers, John Failer, Maurice (Kathy) Failer, and Al (Jackie) Failer along with many nieces and nephews.

For those who would like to celebrate Lydia's life and legacy, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday. February 22, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Anthony Citro will preside.
