Lynn Francis Guba

Traverse City - Lynn Francis Guba, 58, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 6th, 2014, following a brief illness.

Lynn was born in Detroit on February 10th, 1956. From the beginnings of her sweet beautiful life she was a handful. Starting at the age of 3, fighting for life due to kidney complications, through her adult years with diabetes, she fought and survived with the attitude and grace from which we could all learn.

Lynn had a wonderful, kind & free spirited soul, she could get along with just about anyone. Although, she did have that Guba stubborn side. She had no fear and took B.S. from no one. Lynn established lifelong friendships wherever she went, from her cottage friends in Barrow Bay, Canada, her many friends in the Detroit area, Florida, Tennessee, Germany and finally in Traverse City.

Lynn graduated from Traverse City Central High School, Class of 1974. Lynn worked for her dad at John A. Guba & Associates in the insurance industry, Classic Building Supply and became a beloved and cherished figure during her many years at Union Street Station, The Catch Restaurant and helping her partner Mark manage Affordable Movers.

The loves of her life were her many friends & family, mother Susan, sister Gail Lawson (Jim Lawson) & brothers David (Cindy Guba) & John. Her nieces Grace Guba, Janette Guba, nephews Leo Guba & Sam Moser, her very close friends Mark Weber and Jeff Minervini. She loved her animals, especially Bandit & Digger her 1 year old Siberian Huskies. She loved the beach, motorcycles, Rock & Roll, road trips and traveling with her sister Gail. Lynn was a devoted daughter, greatly assisting our mother over the past 5 years.

Also, the family would sincerely like to thank Munson's ICU Staff, the 4th Floor Staff and Munson Hospice for the professional loving care given to Lynn during her last few weeks.

Per Lynn's wishes she will be cremated and the family would like to invite you to attend a Memorial Service, April 12th, 2014 at 11am with visitation from 10-11am., St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1025 S. Union St., Traverse City, MI
