With the help of his wife Nancy they established a successful insurance agency and after 32 years retired in 1995.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with relatives and friends. He was a member and past president of the Life Underwriters Association and member of the Twin Bay Exchange Club.
Lyn was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Caro in 1942 and confirmed in 1949. He has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1965 where he was both an Elder and long standing usher. He was active with the Couples Club and Prime Timers church groups.

Lyn will be remembered for his practical jokes and most people have a fond memory of how he got them. For those of us who were around him a lot, you knew to look for the slight quiver of his lip that let you know he might be trying to pull a "fast one".
Visitation for Lyn will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Robert Zagore will serve as celebrant. Burial will take place a Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Munson Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Grand Traverse Commission on Aging which held a special place in his heart because of the work his daughter does with the program.
