Mabeth Jean Putnam, 88, of Northport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 17, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.

Jean was born on July 24, 1929 in Northport MI, to the late Evits and Ruth (Lanham) Putnam.

Jean was a devoted nurse and worked at the Rainbow Hospital for Children in Cleveland and at the Traverse City State Hospital. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, a board member of the Michigan Nurses Association and served 8 years as president of the Traverse City District Nursing Association. Jean retired after many years of nursing service in 1991.

Jean was a very active member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Northport.

Fondly Jean will be remembered as a devoted nurse and caring friend.

Surviving Jean is her sister Gladys McCarthy, brother Charles Putnam and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Glenn, Earl, Thelma, Marion, Harley, and Karen.
