Traverse City - Madelon E. Dixon, 88 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on September 20, 2012 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Mimi was born on June 30, 1924 in Flint to the late Rosalie and Frank Hawes.
On July 20, 1946 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Flint, she married Robert "Bob" W. Dixon.
Mimi was a charter member of Child Study Club IV, a Camp Roy El Board Member for 35 years, a devout member of Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Key West where she was an Altar Guild at each for 30 years and a member of the Munson Hospital Guild.
In her space time Mimi enjoyed baking cookies and candy at Christmas time. She did lovely needlepoint and her many friends and relatives are happy to have received her work over the years.
Mimi is survived by her children Robert (Debbie) Dixon Jr., M.D. of Grand Haven, Jill Adams of Bloomfield Village, David (Cindy) Dixon of Traverse City, Daniel (Becky) Dixon of Traverse City, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Mimi was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Dixon in 2009 after they shared 62 years of marriage together.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 4 to 6 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Grace Episcopal Church with the Most Rev. Daniel P. Richards officiating. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cherry Wing at the Grand Traverse Pavilions or to BrickWays, Paths to Independence.
