---- — NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Mae Ann Morse, 83 , of Newport News, Va., formerly of Traverse City, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 26, 2011, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.Born Sept. 28, 1928, in Traverse City, she was the daughter of the late William Fred and Lillian (Schreiber) Weber. On March 31, 1951, in Traverse City, she married Albert Junior Morse, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2007.Mae returned to her native community of Traverse City in 1986, after living in Port Huron and Saginaw. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.She is survived by her two sons, Steven (Malinda) Morse, of Newport News, Va., and Charles (Katrina) Morse, of Socorro, N.M.; and four grandchildren, Joel, Samuel, Jennifer and Erika; sister, Helen (LaVern) Broughton, of Traverse City; sister-in-law, Shirley Weber, of Traverse City; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Michael; and siblings, Lillian Feiger, Louise Ware, Evelyn Johnson, William, Louis and Raymond Weber.Friends may call this evening, Nov. 1, from 6 to 8: p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where the Morse Family will receive friends.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the funeral home, with Rev. Caleb Palmer officiating. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.In remembrance of Mae, memorials may be directed to the Munson Hospice House.
