Magdalena "Lena" Luinstra, 89, of Traverse City, passed away March 10, 2022.
Lena was born on December 22, 1932 to the late Philip and Minnie (Wilde) Arnold. She was one of four children.
On December 22, 1985 she married the late James Luinstra at Trinity Lutheran Church of which she was a faithful member. She enjoyed many church activities and was an active member in the church choir as well as a leader for vacation bible school.
She has been in the Traverse City area since 1960 and previously of Kingsley.
She worked in the business office at Munson Medical Center from 1967 until she retired in 1988 . In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, crocheting and spending time with her family. She looked forward to family visits and family gatherings.
She is survived by her Brother, Norman Arnold, Sister Emma (Waldemar) Damrow and many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Luinstra, parents Philip Arnold and Minnie Arnold, brother William "Willie" Arnold and sister in law Geraldine Arnold.
A visitation will take place on Thursday March 17, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Friday March 18, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Services will begin at 11am with a visitation from 10am to 11am. Lena's final resting place will be Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
