Obituary

Margaret Agnes "Margie" Deadman, 61, of Traverse City, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at her home after a valiant fight with cancer. She was in the care of her loving family at the time of her passing.

Born in Traverse City on September 10, 1955, she was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth "Betty" (Equitz) Fleis. She married Charles Lee Deadman on September 4, 1976 in Traverse City.

A seamstress by trade, Margie had worked for Tru-Fit Trouser for many years and then owned and operated her own sewing business. More recently, she was employed by TCAPS at Central High School. Margie enjoyed scrapbooking and card making and also enjoyed crocheting. Her greatest focus was her family. She was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren and loved attending events and being involved in their lives.

Margie is survived by her husband Charlie; her children, Christopher (Billie) Deadman and Courtney Deadman, all of Traverse City; her beloved grandchildren Sydney and Carson; her mother, Betty Fleis of Traverse City as well as her siblings, Nancy LaBonte of Traverse City, Barbara (Bob) Artega of FL, Terri (Larry) Lautner, Dorothy (Pete) Grant, and Joseph Fleis, all of Traverse City, Daniel Fleis and Patricia Fleis, both of Florida, Mary (Dan) Snyder of Port Huron and Rosemary (Rick) Johnson of Florida, a sister in law, Celia Fleis as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her father and her brothers, Thomas, Jr. (Terri's twin) John and Steve Fleis.

A time of celebrating Margie's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
