TRAVERSE CITY —
Margaret Folgarelli, 88, known affectionately as "Marge," passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Munson Hospice House, with family by her side. She has joined her husband, "Fox," in heaven.
Born Nov. 23, 1921, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Modestina and Donato Giangrande.
Marge was the matriarch of her family. Marge and Fox were married in Detroit and moved to Traverse City in 1978.
In 1979 she and her husband, Fox began Folgarelli's Import Market; it is now in its 32nd year and is a third-generation family-owned business. Daughter, Donna, and grandson, Darric, continue in their steps
Marge was active in the local Elks Lodge and enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Folgarelli-Fisher and her husband, Greg Fisher, of Traverse City; three grandchildren, Darric (Ginny) Newman and Deanna (Brian) Pitser, both of Traverse City, and Ryan (Kelly) Fisher of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Lily Margaret and Logan Pitser, and Cameron and Benjamin Newman, of Traverse City.
She will be missed by all those she touched and knew for she was a lady with a special smile and warm heart.
A memorial luncheon will be held for family and friends at her home in Traverse City on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, from noon to 3 p.m. Keep her in your prayers for she is at peace with her loved ones in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, she has requested any donations be made to the Traverse City Cherryland Humane Society or Munson Hospice House.
