Margaret "Peggy" Jean Andersen of Traverse City, Michigan, age 89, lived a full and extraordinary life… and then she died.
She was born to Raymond and Marion (Hutchins) Carleton on September 24, 1932 in Washington, DC.
Peggy was a spirited and independent woman with a personality as bright as the clothes she wore. She loved to laugh and had an adventurous spirit—having gone whitewater rafting and even skydiving at the age of 83. Peggy also loved dining out— filet mignon was her favorite.
Peggy is survived by her children Marta (Mark Sommerman) Andersen, Carl (Sharon) Andersen, Eric Andersen, and Peter (Brenna) Andersen; grandchildren Michael (Keval) and Katie Migliore (Blake); Derek and Christian Andersen; and Bret (Amanda) Andersen; great-grandchildren Mason, Michael, Landon, Sara, and Brody; and brother John (Lynn) Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Ingrid Andersen; and brother Raymond Carleton.
As Peggy wished, simple cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate privately.
