Margaret "Maggie" Lehn, 80, of Traverse City, passed away June 17, 2021.
Maggie was born and raised in Currane Innishannon, County Cork, Ireland, daughter to the late Michael and Hannah (Sheehan) Hurley.
For a short time Maggie moved to London for work; there she would meet the love her life, a strapping Navy man, Roger Lehn. Maggie and Roger married in 1964, in London, and then moved back to the U.S. The couple moved back to Roger's home town of Traverse City, then to California for a year, where they had their first child, Sean, in 1969. Shortly after Sean was born they moved back to Traverse City. The couple welcomed their second child, Katie. Roger and Maggie remained in Traverse City for the rest of their lives.
Maggie was well known in town for her waitressing skills at Dill's, House of Flavors and Harvest Table. After years of hard work in the food industry, she got a job at the Barlow 7 Eleven. She worked there for 10 years prior to retirement. She loved her job at 7 Eleven, as well as her customers.
Maggie was a social lady and was memorable to those she ran into over the years. She was an excellent cook, famous for many comfort food dishes, including her Sticky Toffee Pudding and mac n' cheese. She loved butterflies, flowers and birds, both of which she could enjoy from the view in her own back yard.
Roger and Maggie toured Michigan and the east coast in their campers through the years. They wintered in the Charleston, SC area the last few years to spend some time with their son.
Maggie is survived by her husband Roger, of 57 years; children Sean (Deb) Lehn and Katie (Chris) Withey; grandchildren Seamus (Sierra), Connor, Kaitlin (Kyle) Emert, Noah, Molly and Hannah; great-grandchildren Lacy, Luke and Laily Withey; and brothers Sean and Dan.
