Margaret M. "Maggie" Cairns, 86, of Traverse City, stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior, February 3, 2020, surrounded by her family at her home.

Maggie was born on July 31, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of Ethel Bertha (Johnson) and Harold Arnell Hoyt. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

She enjoyed crafting and was an active member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church where she was cherished by the church family. Her acts of kindness and her devotion as a prayer warrior, will always be treasured.

Maggie is survived by her children, Randy Cairns of Sebring, FL, Joy (Paul) Mann of Nashville, TN, Wayde (Patti) Cairns of Traverse City, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter in law Norma Cairns.

A service to celebrate Maggie's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 402 W. Ninth Street, Traverse City, with Pastor Scott Korljan officiating. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Peninsula Township Cemetery in the spring of the year.

Maggie had requested that contributions in her memory be directed to Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
