Margaret W. Weitschat

Margaret W Weitschat, 86, passed with angel wings on May 4, 2016 with family by her side.

She was the daughter of the late William and Adeline (Lubnau) Fleischmann, born on March 12, 1930 in Detroit.

After completing primary school, she went on to graduate from Harper Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit in 1951.

On March 10, 1951 she married the love of her life and together they raised three wonderful children; Kimberly, Kristin and Jeffrey.
Margaret selflessly spent her time working as a registered nurse for the hospital, the Red Cross and for a doctor office.

After moving to Elk Rapids in 1990, she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids and also the country club. She was proudly a participant of an antique study group also being a dealer and shop owner of antiques in Romeo, Chums Corners, Alden and Elk Rapids. Marge loved the summers and played golf regularly.

Marge is survived by her devoted husband Kenneth, two daughters; Kimberly Pratt and Kristin Knight, son; Jeffrey Weitschat. Grandchildren; Justin, Amanda, A.J., Jacob, Ryan (Meagan), Matthew (Joyce), Christopher and Cody, as well as great-grandchildren; Liam, Emily, Kenzie, Macy, Kendal, Adeline, Brook and Jace and sisters; Audrey (Glen) Albertson, Barbara Fleischmann and Arlene (Steven) Staich. She is also survived by many dear friends and her beloved cat Samuel.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and brother-in-law, Willard.

A memorial service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids on June 11,2016 at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior.
Margaret's final resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.
