Marguerite Elizabeth Weatherholt, 82, of Old Mission Peninsula passed away August 6, 2018 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Marguerite was born on November 21, 1935 in Saginaw to the late Henry Browning and Helen Marie (Andre) Vincent.
On August 10, 1957 Marguerite married the love of her life, Philip Duane Weatherholt at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City.
Marguerite was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In her younger years she was a devoted sports mom and took her kids to all of their events. She was also a girl scout mom and proud wife of a cherry farmer. One of her favorite titles was Mimi, which was bestowed upon her by her grandchildren. In her spare time she loved to read and travel. She was a huge Detroit Lions fan and also liked to play Bunko with her girlfriends. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Marguerite joins her parents and two of her children in Heaven, Matthew Weatherholt and Mary Anne Avery.
Marguerite is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Philip, children Mark (Maristella), David (Tracey), Sara (Robert) O'Hara, Ellen (Matthew) Lambert; daughter-in-law Nancy Weatherholt and son-in-law Mark Avery; grandchildren Alexander (Sara) Avery, Matthew Weatherholt, Spencer (Katie) Avery, Michael Weatherholt, Nicholas Weatherholt, Madalyn (Christopher Brower) Weatherholt, Abigail Weatherholt, Katherine Weatherholt, Ethan Weatherholt and Lucas Lambert; great grandchildren Kadence, Molly and Benjamin Avery.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation beginning one hour prior. Graveside services will follow the mass along with a luncheon in the Parish Hall.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation.
