Marie (Ree) Ann Arsenault (Wolf), 90, of Kingsley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Marie was born in Hannah, MI on February 10, 1934 to Bernard and Sadie Wolf (Cook). Marie was the matriarch of her family and took great pride in upholding her family name. She cherished her two sons, Barry and Kim, and missed them dearly as they both preceded her in death.
Marie spent time in Kalamazoo and Las Vegas before buying her first and forever home in Kingsley, MI in 1961. Her home was always open to friends and family, serving as a gathering place filled with stories and laughter. She had a remarkable memory and could recount tales for every occasion. She enjoyed her independence, and, when not at home, you could find her out and about with one of her sisters, by blood or marriage, who were her best friends. Marie loved birds, angels and collecting things, but above all, she had a deep love for her family and friends.
She took pride in her work as a secretary in which she worked for Western Union, Michigan Bell, and eventually retiring from The Arnell Engstrom Children's Center in Traverse City. She was an impressive typist and her grammatical proficiency was extraordinary.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Barry and Kim Arsenault; her siblings, Don (Velda) Wolf, Stanley (Doris) Wolf, Paul Wolf, Jack Wolf, Brian Wolf and Deanna Miller (Bernie).
She is survived by her grandchildren, Tony Chavalia, Shayne Arsenault and Crystal Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, AJ, Elloise and Milo; great-great-grandchildren, Finn and Kai; daughter-in-law, Pamela Arsenault; sisters-in-law, Bridie Wolf, Marge Wolf and Joanna Wolf; special nephew and nieces, Joe Wolf, Christine Miller and Diahn Miller-Hess; and many other friends and family.
We would like to express deep gratitude to Colleen for her care and help over the past several months.
A luncheon, and Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 19th at 2:00pm. Events will take place at the Summit City Grange Hall.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Traverse City.
