TRAVERSE CITY — Marie Antoinette Eikey, 79, of Traverse City, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Munson Medical Center.Born Oct. 30, 1932, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Antoinette (Labinski) Cebula. On May 20, 1978, in Traverse City, she married DeVere "Ike" Eikey, who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2003.Marie loved to travel and enjoyed playing cards.She is survived by children, Larry Dunham, of Traverse City, Ernest (Dorthy) Dunham, of Mesick, and Kathy (John) Rumen, of Larimore, N.D.; stepchildren, Gregory (Debi) Eikey, of Roswell, Ga., Jill James, of Northport, and Penny (Jeff) Kroesing, of Lake Ann; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Donald (Gerry) Cebula, of Spokane, Wash., and Richard (Donna) Cebula, of Grawn; one sister, Connie (Marlin) Conway, of Buckley; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, Marie was also preceded in death by two children, Marlene Dunham and Steven Dunham; and a stepchild, Steven Eikey.Funeral services will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Brett Spalding will officiate. Graveside services with burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.In remembrance of Marie, memorials may be directed to Leelanau County Commission on Aging.
